What We Do
The Black Conservative Federation is the national home for Black conservatives. We knock doors, develop leaders, produce serious research, and make the case for the conservative principles that strengthen families and communities across America.
Built to be the bridge
The Black Conservative Federation was founded in 2016 by Diante Johnson with a simple conviction: conservative principles work, and Black communities deserve a serious, respectful case for them made by people who show up. What began as a small coalition of activists is now a national organization with leadership in 26 states, a public policy center, a leadership fellowship, and a growing membership.
We do not lecture communities, and we do not write them off. We go to the church, the barbershop, the campus, and the neighborhood meeting, and we make the case for family, opportunity, safety, and faith with evidence and with respect. Our approach is disciplined: name the problem honestly, bring practical solutions, point to the opportunity, and measure the results.
You cannot burn the bridge before people have a chance to walk over it. We must become the bridge.Diante Johnson, President & Founder
The Bridge
Outreach comes before conversion. Influence is earned in order, and every step depends on the one before it.
Show up, listen, and stay.
Say what is true and back it with evidence.
Keep commitments long after the cameras leave.
Be the voice people call when decisions are made.
Policy, leadership, and results that last.
Three commitments
Economic Empowerment
Financial literacy, credit, budgeting, entrepreneurship, homeownership, and generational wealth. We equip families with the knowledge and the tools to build lasting economic independence.
Educational Excellence
School choice, college readiness, vocational pathways, and strong HBCUs. Every child deserves a school that works, and every family deserves the freedom to choose it.
Community Engagement
Voter education, candidate advocacy, safe communities, and grassroots organizing. We are present in the communities we serve, in election years and every year in between.

Guiding Principles
- Society is made up of interdependent individuals, not disconnected ones.
- The family is the most fundamental element of a civil society, and traditional family structure is a catalyst for future success.
- Individuals, families, and communities make better decisions about their own wellbeing than government does.
- Government serves the people, not the other way around, and public officials should govern without personal bias.
- Free enterprise is the best system to support economic growth and an individual's economic freedom.
- Taxation should be limited to the constitutional operations of government.
- Conservatism seeks to protect, preserve, and improve all that is good in society.
